Art (e) Facts: Objects as Subjects in Craft-Based Research

Annika Larsson

I am currently working on a research project with the title Art (e) Facts: Objects as Subjects in Craft-Based Research. The project is conducted at the Research Lab at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, in collaboration with the World Culture Heritage Museums. Here I, with inspiration from John Becker's practice-based textile historical research, try to trace cultural encounters in time and space based on materials, technical equipment and integration of cultural expressions and design languages between East and West. My practical work is mainly done in the craft studios at the inspiring environment at Wik's castle, originating in the Middle Ages.
